ABYSS ATHENS is a Greek leather house born from passion, patience, and a deeply personal journey.
The idea began with Giorgos Panopoulos, a designer and maker who spent years exploring form, function, and technique before ever considering a brand. What started as a personal pursuit to master pattern-making and leather construction soon became a clear and disciplined vision.
For four years, ABYSS ATHENS evolved quietly and deliberately, through countless prototypes, late nights in the workshop, and a commitment to doing things the right way rather than the easy way.

Every bag is entirely crafted in Athens by Giorgos, from pattern development and cutting to hand-dyeing,
edge finishing, and precision stitching in the workshop. The process is time- intensive and technically complex and that is a choice he embraces.
For Giorgos, the name “Abyss” reflects a belief in depth in building slowly, honestly, and with substance beneath the surface. It speaks to what is not immediately visible, but deeply felt: structure, integrity, and character.
Craftsmanship for us is not a label, it is a way of life.
We treat each piece as a conversation between material and maker, where every stitch, every curve, and every surface reflects intention and care.
