Inspired by the Slow Food Movement, Demetra and Diamantis Foustanellas created their mezedopoleio “h koutala tou mageira” or “Chef’s Ladle” located in downtown Karlovasi, Samos island, Greece. Diamantis, an avid, hobby-gardener supplies much of the fresh produce for the Chef’s delicious recipes. Gatherings and discussion sessions on community awareness and local sustainability, co-organized by the Slow Food Samos Convivium, are forthcoming.
