We love Crete. We love Heraklion. Above all, we adore the excellent Cretan cuisine! From now on, we have one more reason to visit this city. Its called ''Arrenon-Thileon'', that actually is a separation between ''Masculine'' and ''Feminine'' school classes in Greece decades ago, in a time where girls were not supposed to be in the same room with boys.
This restaurant is not like any other. The first time we got there, we were really excited by the whole decoration , a 60's school class concept, full of colours, positive energy and smiling people! The walls are covered with nostalgic posters and paintings with a sweet sense of humor!
And then....we ordered...and the trip to tasty paradise had just begun! Cretan ''Ntakos'' with fresh tomatoes and herbs, wineleaves, ''fava'', anchovies, octapus, squids in sauce, lobster with pasta, and the greatest of all ''xoxlioi' , Escargot of Crete with red wine and rosemary. Amazing tastes!
The Αρρένων-Θηλέων is a new born local restaurant and i have to say that Michael Leledakis and Michael Chatzigiannis gave their best! A place for fun, good food, excellent service and Cretan atmosphere, in a city that never sleeps.
