My real name is Αnastasia Asvesta, I studied gymnastics at Greek university. I wanted to remain a child. Fit and full of energy! Later on in life, I found another way to experience childhood. Papier mache art! I renamed myself 'Papiera' and started to play!
Papier-mâché (French for "chewed paper"), alternatively, paper mache, is a composite material consisting of paper pieces or pulp, bound with an adhesive, such as glue, starch, or wallpaper paste.
In other words, papier mache needs a lot of work, time and enthusiasm!
I steal time from my sleep, enthusiasm from my little daughter and that's how work turns to fun!
It was love at first sight! I can spend hours and hours in my workshop with my hands and clothes full of glue and colors, making everyday objects into art.
I started to sell, because there was no space at home for my new creations. It was very difficult at first because every item is a part of my heart. But now, I know that my art makes people happy and I really want to share happiness!
